ACTE’s goal is to make the arts more accessible and equitable to all students and to inspire growth and a passion for learning through the arts. We offer a full range of fun, enriching drama programs that would meet the needs of the school, of the teacher and of the students.

Benefits of Drama Education
Studies have shown how the performing arts nurture skills that are useful in every aspect of learning and life. A recent article published in the Ontario College of Teachers’ magazine Professionally Speaking, (December 2003), described how after using drama in the classroom, teachers have noticed improvement in their students’ literacy and language comprehension. Teachers also noted that using drama can expand students’ understanding and tolerance of their world and keeps them in school. This article reinforces the idea that the performing arts spark the imagination and help improve students’ self-confidence, team-building and leadership skills.

Drama can:
a) Offer a sense of community
b) Bring students out of their shell
c) Boost a positive self-image
d) Stimulate the imagination
e) Develop leadership and team-building skills
f) Help improve ability to concentrate and focus
g) Augment oral and written skills

Acte's school programs include lunch time and after school classes, along with a variety of fun and enriching workshops. We also put on school shows twice a year for the wider community to see.
