Our Programs

Dare to imagine!

"Logic will get you from A to B,
imagination will take you anywhere"

– Albert Einstein

ACTE encourages and promotes self-expression and social growth in supportive, age-appropriate classes. The skills students will take from the performing arts programs will serve them in all areas of their life. They will develop many life-skills including creative thinking, focus, risk-taking, perseverance, leadership, teamwork and taking on responsibilities for themselves and for their group. We keep our student-to-teacher ratio small so that the students get the personal attention and non-competitive environment they need to do their best. All of our incredible teaching artists are also professional actors and musicians, creating a fun environment with a serious edge.

After-School Courses

Grades: SK-2, 2-4, 4-6 & 7-8

Let your imagination soar! These fun-filled courses will take students through many aspects of the theatre including: drama games, improvisation, character and scene development, singing, dancing, play-writing, and stagecraft. The courses culminate with an end-of-term performance for families and friends. An After-School Walking Shuttle may be available from your child’s school to their ACTE class.

At Your School Workshops

We facilitate a full range of fun, enriching lunch-time, after-school and in-class drama workshops as well as school plays that would meet the needs of the school, of the teacher and of the students.

Summer Day Camp

A summer day camp for campers entering grades 2-9

Shine in the Summertime! Come join the fun at the Annex Children’s Theatre in Education’s (ACTE) Performing Arts Summer Day Camp! Each two-week session will give campers the opportunity to put together a musical, and perform it for family and friends! Campers will learn to act, sing, dance, make sets and costumes. In addition to the creative arts component, campers will enjoy daily outdoor activities such as sports, cooperative games, and splash pad.

"ACTE has been my home away from home for so long and it has been a place where I can have fun, express myself, and above all, learn how to act. I can’t thank you enough for creating a space that is so much fun, somewhere that from the ages of 5-13 I formed such a passion for drama."
